Welcome to Wood Hollow Equestrian Center (WHEC), now located at Stanhope Stables in Huntington on beautiful Long Island, NY. Our mission is to provide a relaxed atmosphere that permits our riders to receive individualized attention and services that includes both mounted and unmounted training for themselves and their horses. Wood Hollow maintains a comfortable atmosphere that is balanced with rigorous training focusing on helping our riders accomplish their goals.
For the Beginner Rider:
For those riders just experiencing the joys of horsemanship for the first time, Wood Hollow uses a "hands-on" approach in providing positive and enjoyable riding lessons. We help beginners to become better riders and maximize their enjoyment while on the horse. As riders progress through our individualized attention, we continue to ensure that they feel safe and confident as they learn new and more challenging skills.
For the Intermediate Rider:
Our intermediate riders of all ages benefit from our instruction both inside the ring and in the stable. The horses are our partners as we help our riders grow from novice horsepersons to confident equestrians. We regularly hold clinics to advance horsemanship skills in our riders, and we participate actively in the schooling horse show world where our intermediate riders are able to demonstrate their riding skills to a wider audience and to permit them the opportunity not only to ride the horses off property but also the opportunity to make new friendships among the wider horse community on Long Island.
For the Advanced Rider:
We realize that while horse ownership is not suitable for everyone, many riders have goals that include competitive horse showing. Our equestrian center is committed to helping our competitive riders meet their individual show goals. We do this by retaining a string of high quality horses purchased by the equestrian center with the goals of our show riders in mind.
